Can you describe in simple words what the Olympus protocol is?

In simple terms, Olympus is a decentralized reserve currency protocol. Think of it as a community-owned central bank that issues a digital asset called OHM.
Unlike most cryptocurrencies that are backed only by market hype, every OHM is backed by a basket of assets (like stablecoins and ETH) held in the Olympus Treasury. This gives the currency a "floor value" or backing.
The protocol’s innovation is Protocol-Owned Liquidity (POL). Instead of renting liquidity from users, the protocol owns its own trading pairs. This ensures that the market for OHM remains deep and stable, allowing Olympus to act as a sovereign financial system that isn't dependent on the whims of external liquidity providers. Essentially, it is building a stable, sustainable economy that doesn't rely on traditional banks.
